October 13th, 2013 to October 19th, 2013
I apologize for the delay in getting this week's update to you; however, I had a major computer crash, including the hard drive. While it is still not working, I'm able to use a different computer for this week.
Thanks for joining me on our
Annual Canadian Thanksgiving Special on Treasure Island Oldies. It was great to play some "thankful" type songs and also to play your requests. The next special will be the
17th Annual Halloween Spooktacular, Live Sunday, October 27.
I was so pleased to share the major news with you at the beginning of the show. If you have not yet had a chance to listen to this week's show, here's the big news. As of this week,we are now heard in
China on
Radio Max. We'll be on the air from 10 am to 2 pm in
Beijing on CNPK 99.9FM, in
Liaoyang on CKNE 95.0FM, and in
Anshan on CNCE 94.5FM. This is a major breakthrough for the show giving us the opportunity to reach an audience in the millions every week. These three great Radio Max stations are a fantastic addition to the ever-growing list of stations that are part of the
Broadcast Partners Network.
If you have a birthday coming up, I invite you to let me know so that I can wish you Happy Birthday on the show and play Birthday by The Beatles for you. Send the details to
birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com.
The
Treasure Island Oldies Blog is playing
The Guess Who in a live performance of
Share The Land, a great Thanksgiving song. It's our
Song Of The Week. Enjoy!
Voice Your Choice presents
Leroy Van Dyke, a country singer who also crossed over onto the pop charts.
Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either The Auctioneer or Walk On By. I'll p[lay the winner in the 3rd hour of next week's show.
Here's the Rock And Roll News for the week of October 13th.
Listen to the Top 5 Countdown from 1963.
Have a great week and see you next week on Treasure Island Oldies.
Bye for now.
