Tommy Roe was born May 9, 1942 in
Atlanta, Georgia. He formed a band, The Satins, at Brown High School, and worked local dances in the late1950s. The group recorded for Judd Records in 1960. He had his first Number One and his first Gold record
when he was only 20 years old! Moving to Britain in the mid-1960s. he returned to the USA in 1969.
And between 1962 and 1973, he appeared on
the Billboard charts a total of 22 times, and had six Top Ten hits plus
four Gold Records, a very impressive pop career.
