O.C. Smith was born Ocie Lee Smith on June 21, 1936 in Mansfield, Louisiana and was raised in Los Angeles, California. Sadly, this great R&B singer died at the age of 65 on November 23, 2001.
He appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 charts on ten occasions between 1968 and 1974 and scored a Top Ten hit, which also became a Gold Record for him.
