Share memories of growing up with the great music of the 50s, 60s and 70s. My background includes radio and television personality as well as V.P. A&R for A&M Records, where I signed Bryan Adams. In 1997, I began Treasure Island Oldies, the Home of Lost Treasures. I play the biggies, but extensively feature hard to find rare oldies. Dusty Springfield - Voice Your Choice
She was born Mary O'Brien in London, England on April 16, 1939, but you know her as Dusty Springfield. Very sadly, Dusty passed away March 2, 1999 at age 59 from cancer. She was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
Dusty and her brother Tom Springfield, along with Tim Field formed The Springfields and had two hits under that banner, Silver Threads And Golden Needles and Dear Hearts And Gentle People.
Dusty split from The Springfields in favour of a solo career, and was that ever a great decision, as she scored 19 hits on the Hot 100 chart in Billboard Magazine.
This week on Treasure Island Oldies, Voice Your Choice presents the late great Dusty Springfield with two of her many hits. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either You Don't Have To Say You Love Me or All I See Is You. I'll play the winner in the 3rd hour of next week's show.
