November
30th, 2014 to December 6th, 2014
Well it was great to begin playing Christmas songs on this
week’s show. Next week I’ll play even more and the following week it will be
all Christmas tunes, followed by our Annual
Christmas Special on Sunday,
December 21st, beginning at 6 pm Pacific, 1 am Universal.
My condolences go out to long time listener and friend, Connie Canode in Madison, Wisconsin. She received the sad news near the end of Thanksgiving
Weekend that her step dad has passed away. My thoughts are with you, Connie.
I’m excited to let you know that 2015
marks the 18th
Anniversary of Treasure Island Oldies and we’re going celebrate in style!
There will be 18 Specials throughout
the year for your enjoyment. And I’ve teamed up with our friends at TNJ Poster Creations, to bring
you a new monthly contest. Get all the details by clicking here. I’m really looking forward to an exciting year in 2015 and this contest will be
a great way to celebrate. The first winner will be announced on the first show
of 2015, the New Year Dance Party on
Sunday, January 4th, 2015.
So now is the time to enter to be eligible to be the January winner. There will
be a new winner every month!
Happy
Birthday wishes go out this week to Lennart
Persson in Gothenberg, Sweden. If
your birthday is coming up, let me know so that I can play Birthday by The Beatles
and also wish you Happy Birthday on the show. Send the details to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com.
The Treasure Island Oldies Blog
goes to the movies for this week’s Song
of the Week. It’s John, Paul, George and Ringo, The Beatles in a sizzling clip from their debut motion picture A Hard Day’s Night performing Tell Me Why. The bonus is that this clip
went through a colourization process, so you’ll see John, Paul, George and Ringo
in the movie for the first time in colour. Enjoy!
Next week Voice Your Choice
presents Blues great Charles Brown
with two great Christmas songs for your votes. Cast your vote at the Voice YourChoice page for either Please Come HomeFor Christmas or Merry Christmas Baby.
I’ll play the winner in the 3rd hour of next week’s show.
