March
9th, 2014 to March 15th, 2014
Treasure Island Oldies has gone to the dogs! Well actually, 1610 The Dog, in Bonham, Texas. It’s
the latest station to become part of the Treasure Island Oldies Broadcast Partners Network. The Chief Dog at the station, Jim, says he will simulcast the live
show every Sunday night at 8 PM local time. He promises to give a long leash to
the show. LOL On a sad note, we say so long to Brian and the gang at TEAM-FM
in England. Unfortunately the
station will cease to broadcast this week. It’s been wonderful being a TEAM
member and I wish everyone good health and success in the future.
Next
week it’s the Annual Name Game
Special beginning at 6 pm Pacific time. Every song will have a person’s name
in the song title like Sheila, Michael, Bobby, Jimmy, Barbara, etc. You get the idea. I’m also
looking forward to playing your Name requests on the show next week.
Happy
Birthday wishes go out to twin sisters Lindsay
and Allison in Toronto, Ontario
and my thanks to Alexander Vanengelen
in Montreal, Quebec for the tip. It’s
his girlfriend Allison celebrating with her sister ion Toronto. And if you have
a birthday coming up soon or someone you know whose birthday is approaching, be
sure to let me know. I’ll wish them Happy Birthday and play Birthday by The Beatles. Send the details to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com.
The Treasure Island Oldies Blog
is playing Dion in an early music
video clip of Donna The Prima Donna.
It’s our Song of the Week. Enjoy!
Voice
Your Choice presents a family of singers: The
Ames Brothers. They were a staple on the charts throughout the 1950s. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either My Bonnie Lassie or Tammy.
I’ll play the winner in the 3rd hour of next week’s Name Game Special.
Here’s the Rock and Roll News
