I should have played Let It Snow
Let It Snow Let It Snow on the show this week. An unlikely event took place
over the weekend: it snowed in Vancouver! This is the first time this year and
only the second time since November that we have had any snow on the West Coast
of Canada. While it’s visually interesting to look at, it’s still a rare
occurrence to happen here. Hopefully it will all be melted away by next week’s
show. J In
the meantime, all the hot songs on this week’s playlist didn’t prevent the snow
storm. LOL If you missed the live show, be sure to listen to the Archive and also to check out the Playlist. I always list every song and
artist played on the show every week. It’s all at the Listen page.
Happy
Birthday wishes go out to long time listener and recent Chat Room regular, Linda Johnson in West Plains, Missouri, and to George
Mooth in Edwardsburg, Michigan.
And if you have a birthday approaching, be sure to let me know so that I can
play Birthday by The Beatles for you. Send the details to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com.
Mark your calendar for Sunday,
March 16th. That’s when our next special will take place, the Annual Name Game Special. Every song
played will feature someone’s name in the song title. It’s always a popular
special and I know you’ll enjoy it.
The Treasure Island Oldies Blog
is playing The O’Kaysions with their
Top 5 hit, Girl Watcher. It’s our Song of the Week. Enjoy!
Voice
Your Choice spotlights one of the early Girl Groups, The Essex. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either A Walkin’ Miracle or Easier Said Than Done. I’ll play the
winner in the 3rd hour of next week’s show.
Here’s the Rock and Roll News
for the week of February 23rd.
Listen to the Top 5 Countdown
from 1960.
Well that’s about all for this week. I’m heading off into the snow!
See you next week for another Treasure
Island Oldies show.
Bye for now.
