This week on Treasure Island Oldies

December 20th, 2015 to January 2nd, 2016
Thank you very much for listening to this year's Christmas Special; I sincerely hope you enjoyed it. It's amazing that this year marks the 19th year I've brought you this show. Without a doubt, it's my favourite show of the entire year to present to you. In case you missed hearing the Live show, you can enjoy it on demand at the Listen page. Thanks for all your kind comments and holiday greetings. It's been great hearing from you.

I'll be taking my Christmas break next week and consequently, there be no live show. Join me for the next Live show, Sunday, January 3rd, 2016 for the annual New Year Dance Party.

The Treasure Island Oldies Blog is playing a fun Christmas tune by my friend Paul Evans. It's Santa's Stuck Up In The Chimney. Enjoy!

Voice Your Choice will also return in the New Year and the first artist to be spotlighted will be Bobby Freeman. You can cast your vote right now at the Voice Your Choice page for either C'Mon And Swim or Do You Wanna Dance. I'll play the winning song on the New Year's Dance Party on Sunday, January 3rd.

I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Enjoy your celebrations with your family and friends.

Bye for now.
Michael

In the meantime, it was great to play a wide variety of Christmas songs for you on this week's show. And thanks for your requests; I was pleased to play them for you.

I'd like to congratulate Charles Foulk from Charleston, South Carolina, the final winner of the 18th Anniversary Contest. Charles chose the classic Hot Rod Gang poster, which will be on its way to him courtesy TNJ Poster Creations. December 6th, 2015 to December 11th, 2015
With the Christmas rush already well underway, I'm going to have to keep this week's Island Update brief. I'd like to begin by wishing you a very Happy Hanukkah and I hope you enjoy this beautiful and traditional Festival of Light. I must also say that I was so pleased to get such immediate response from the Lost Christmas Treasure I played by the Fontaine Sisters, the backup singers for Perry Como from 1949 to 1952. California Barb was so surprised and pleased to hear me play Have A Howdy Doody Christmas by the Fontaine Sisters that she just had to call the Listener Line as soon as she heard it to say how thrilled she was I played it. That's a great example of why I love doing this show and bringing Treasure Island Oldies to you every week.

We're now only two weeks away from the Annual Christmas Special. Be sure to make a note in your calendar for Sunday, December 20th. That's the date for the Live show, but please note that the Archive of the show will also be available throughout the Holiday Season on the Listen page.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to long time listener and my friend Aron Gutman in Richmond, British Columbia If your birthday is coming up, be sure to let me know by sending the details to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com. I'll wish you Happy Birthday on the show and also play Birthday by The Beatles for you.

You only have a few days remaining until next week's show and the announcement of the December and final winner of the Treasure Island Oldies 18th Anniversary Contest. So you've got just a bit of time to enter to be eligible to win the poster of your choice from our good friends at TNJ Poster Creations. For details click on the Enter the 18th Anniversary Contest graphic link on any page of the website.

Treasure Island Oldies presents The Lovin' Spoonful on Voice Your Choice, the last one for this year. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either Rain On The Roof or Nashville Cats. I'll play the winning song on next week's show.

Here's the Rock & Roll News Podcast for the week of December 7th.

That's about all for now. Take care and have a good week.
