Prestiss Barnes, the bass singer of The Moonglows has died following a single car accident on October 1st at age 81. He was driving himself to choir practice at his home town church in Magnolia, Mississippi.
He was born April 12, 1925 in Chattewa, Mississippi and was a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received many other prestigious awards. He chose to continue to live in his home state throughout his life.
Presntiss Barnes had a prominent role as bass singer in all of the songs made famnous by The Moonglows, including their signature song, Sincerely, as well as See Saw, Please Send Me Someone To Love and Ten Commandments Of Love.
