The Main Ingredient were Donald McPherson, Luther Simmons and Tony Sylvester, an R&B vocal trio from the Bronx, New York. Sadly, Donald McPherson died of leukemia on July 4, 1971 and was replaced by Cuba Gooding whose son Cuba Gooding Jr. became a prominent movie actor.
During their run on the charts between 1970 and mid-1975, they had 11 singles, 2 reaching Top Ten, and a Gold Record.
