Johnny Cash was born February 26, 1932 in Kingsland, Arkansas. He was one of the original artists signed to Sun Records, along with Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison. He passed away September 23, 2003. He sold over 90 million albums during a career than spanned nearly 50 years. He appeared 48 times on the Billboard Hot 100 charts from 1956 through 1976, yet only scored one Gold Record and the Number Two position on the chart in 1969 for A Boy Named Sue.
