In keeping with our theme this week on our Annual Instrumental Gems Wordless Wonders Special on Treasure Island Oldies, we're playing one of the best instrumental groups ever, that were the studio session players for Stax Records. The group consisted of some of the best studio musicians ever assembled: keyboard whiz Booker T. Jones, bass player Donald "Duck" Dunn, Steve Cropper on guitar, and Al Jackson, Jr. on drums.
This week the Treasure Island Oldies Blog is playing one of the all-time classic instrumentals by Booker T & The MGs, in a sizzling live performance of Green Onions. It's our Song Of The Week.
