http://treasureislandoldies.com/18th/TIO_18th.html

January 25th, 2015 to January 31st, 2015

It was busy in the Chat Room with the regulars, returning long time listeners, plus new ones. It’s really like having a visit with your friends every week. How nice is that??!! You should really try it out for yourself; I know you’ll find it takes listening to the show to a new level. Simply Click Chat on any page of the website any Sunday evening when the Live Show is on the air. Follow the easy instructions and voila! You’ll be in the Chat Room and one of the Nuts in the Hut.

It was also good to hear from several listeners with their requests, both by email as well as by calling the Listener Line at 206-339-0709. I’d love to hear from you and play a special song for you.

Next week it’s our annual Tribute to The Day The Music Died. Be sure to listen during the 4th hour for news clips and interviews plus the great music of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. And the following week, Sunday, February 8th, it’s the Annual Valentine’s Day Special. Don’t forget to buy (or make) a Valentine’s card for your special someone and also email you request or call the Listener Line to record your request message. I look forward to hearing from you.

The next 18th Anniversary Contest winner will be announced Sunday, February 22nd during the Live show. You can’t win the poster of your choice from TNJ Poster Creations if you don’t enter. Click the Celebrate 18 logo on the website for full details. Just so you know, there is NO PURCHASE NECESSARY to be eligible to be a winner.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Fred Waterer in St. Catharines, Ontario. All the best to you Fred. And if your own birthday is coming up soon, be sure to let me know. I’ll wish you Happy Birthday on the show and also play Birthday by The Beatles for you. Send the details to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com.

I played Simon and Garfunkel’s At The Zoo on the show and decided to play them again at the Treasure Island Oldies Blog. It’s a great clip from their Concert In Central Park from 1981. You can almost hear a pin drop as they perform The Sound Of Silence. It’s our Song of the Week. Enjoy!

Voice Your Choice shines the spotlight on Little Anthony and the Imperials with just two of their many hit records. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either Goin’ Out Of My Head or Hurt So Bad. I’ll play the winner in the 3rd hour of next week’s show.
