The Buckinghams were a pop-rock group from Chicago, Illinois. Imagine starting out as a band and having your debut single reach the Number One spot on the charts. That's what happened with their first release, Kind Of A Drag. What an amazing feat!
The group consisted of lead vocalist Dennis Tufano, Carl Giammarese on guitar, along with Dennis Miccoli (keyboards), Nick Fortuna (bass), and Jon Poulos. Sadly Jon Poulos died at the tender age of 32 in 1980 of a drug overdose.
When the group broke up in 1973, Dennis and Carl remained together as a duo under the banner Tufano & Giammarese and they had a moderate sized hit with Music Everywhere.
