November 24th, 2013 to November 30th, 2013
Thanks for listening to this week’s show. It was great to be able to come up with more Lost Treasures for you to remember and enjoy. A great example is The Diplomats with Here’s A Heart. I haven’t played that song on the show in nearly three years, and it was so good to hear again. I always try to play an interesting blend of huge hits and also mix in some songs you may not have heard in years. I also enjoyed playing Wives And Lovers by Jack Jones, as part of this week’s Lounge Double, and also a request from Ineyda Velazquez in Homestead, Florida.
The Treasure Island Oldies Chat Room was busy again this week and it was so nice to see long time listener, Jack, aka Jax, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, come back for a visit. He made the very first request on the show way back in 1997 and I actually remembered what he had requested and played I’m Into Something Good by Herman’s Hermits for him on this week’s show. I’d love to have you stop by the Chat Room for a visit; just Click Chat on any page of the website and follow the instructions. Hope to see you soon.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my American friends and listeners a very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you enjoy a nice long weekend in celebration with your family and friends.
Be sure to mark your calendar for what has become the most popular show of the entire year. The Annual Treasure Island Oldies Christmas Special will air Live, December 22nd beginning at 6 pm Pacific and if you miss the Live show you’ll be able to hear the Archive throughout the Christmas holidays.
If you have a birthday fast approaching, be sure to let me know so that I can wish you Happy Birthday on the show and also play Birthday by The Beatles for you. Send your birthday details to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Treasure Island Oldies Blog is playing The Shirelles in a live performance of Will You Love Me Tomorrow. It’s our Song Of The Week. Enjoy!
The Beach Boys are in the spotlight on Voice Your Choice as we start off the Christmas Holiday Season on Treasure Island Oldies. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either The Man With All The Toys or Little Saint Nick. I’ll play the winner in the 3rd hour of next week’s show.
Here’s the Rock And Roll News for the week of November 24th
Listen to the Top 5 Countdown from 1967.
Have a great week and once again, Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends.
