Week of January 29th, 2017 to February 4th, 2017
It
was great spending time with you again this week on the Island, and I'm
so pleased that the Chat Room was working perfectly once again. We had a
good turnout with the regulars and also very nice to see Kevin
McKinnon. Kevin was formerly Manager Broadcast and Delivery Operations
at insinc, our former network. The cool thing is Kevin is now the Deputy
Fire Chief City of Grand Forks, BC. It was great to catch up with him.
You never know who will drop by the Chat Room. Try it for yourself next
Sunday during the Live show from 6 to 10 pm Pacific.
Next
week on the show, it's the annual Tribute to Buddy Holly, Ritchie
Valens and The Big Bopper: The Day The Music Died. The entire 4th hour
of next week's show will include lots of their great songs and even
interview clips. Be sure to have a listen.
Is
your birthday coming up soon? If so, please let me know the date so
that I can help you celebrate your special day on the air. Send the
details to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com and I'll wish you Happy
Birthday and play Birthday by The Beatles for you.
The
Top Five Countdown this week is from 1964 the Number One song is I Want
To Hold Your Hand by The Beatles. It's playing at the Treasure Island
Oldies Blog. Enjoy!
Next
week on Treasure Island Oldies, Voice Your Choice presents The
Marvelettes with two of their hits. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either Playboy or Don't Mess With Bill. I'll play the
winner on next week's show.
Here's this week's Rock and Roll News Podcast.
Have a great week and see you this coming Sunday for the next Live show and our annual Tribute to The Day The Music Died.
Take good care and all the best.
Bye for now.
Michael
