March 22nd to 29th, 2020
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
Effective Wednesday, March 25 and continuing Monday to Friday, Treasure Island Oldies is going LIVE with a one hour daily show at 11 am Pacific, 1 pm Central, 2 pm Eastern, 3 pm Atlantic. Many Broadcast Partners Network Affiliate Stations have already committed to simulcasting or delay broadcasting the daily one hour show. More are coming on board, for which I am grateful.
This can be a very lonely and fearful time for people who are isolating at home. With the constant "Breaking News", social media chatter, and binge watching Netflix, I want to provide a safe one hour escape by playing the music you grew up with and love hearing today.
Please note this this new daily live one hour show is in addition to and separate from the weekly four hour show, which will continue as usual.
In addition to the new daily live show, the Chat Room will be open 24/7 for anyone who wants to drop by to say hi and to share a few minutes together safely. I will be active in the chat room during the live show. Click the Chat tab to find out hot to log in. There may be some folks when you drop in, other times there may be nobody in the room. It doesn't matter, just want to make it available to you at any time.
PLEASE, pay attention to the health care professionals with their frequent updates. Listen to and follow their instructions. You'll note we have posted the above video on being safe at this time. My thanks to my friend and family member, James Fine at Telecine in Montreal for permitting me to share these tips with you.
Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to my good friend Tom Locke in Vancouver, British Columbia. Tom is also the creator of the long running Moment In Time weekly feature on the show for over 20 years. If your birthday is coming up soon, I'd like to help you celebrate your birthday with all the show's listeners. Send the details to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com. I'll wish you Happy Birthday on the air and also play Birthday by The Beatles for you.
Next week on Treasure Island Oldies, Voice Your Choice features "humble" R&B singer, The Fantastic Johnny C. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either Boogaloo Down Broadway or Hitch It To The Horse. I'll play the winner on next week's show.
The Top Five Countdown is from 1964. The Beatles occupied the Number 3 and Number 2 spots as well as Number One. She Loves You is playing at the Treasure Island Oldies Blog.

Before closing off for this week, I hope you will be able to listen to and enjoy the Daily Live show.
Take care, stay safe and stay well!
Bye for now.
