March 8th to 14th, 2020
This weekend marked the annual Spring Forward of the clocks by one hour. All the songs I played on this week's show related to time, including The Night Time, Time Is On My Side, Rock Around The Clock, as a few examples. Don't wait a minute! Go to the Listen page and scroll down to the Playlist to find out every song I played on the show. It seems that here in British Columbia (the show comes to you from Vancouver), the BC Government received a loud and clear message from the population: don't change the clocks back by one hour any more. It is also the will of Washington, Oregon and California. All they are waiting for is final approval of the US federal government; but that seems to be not a current priority. I'll let you know if British Columbia passes the legislation. The Yukon has passed it into their laws and will no longer switch back. Interesting.
Be sure to listen to next week's show when we'll have the annual Name Game Special. You just may hear your name in a song title. It's a fun special named after the fun song by Shirley Ellis.
If your birthday is coming up soon, I'd like to help you celebrate your birthday with all the show's listeners. Send the details to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com. I'll wish you Happy Birthday on the air and also play Birthday by The Beatles for you. By the way, Happy Leap Year to all whose birthday falls this week on February 29th.
Next week on Treasure Island Oldies, Voice Your Choice features Don and Phil Everly, The Everly Brothers. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either Walk Right Back or Lucille. I'll play the winner on next week's show.
The Top Five Countdown is from 1963. The Number One song is by The Four Seasons. Walk Like A Man is playing at the Treasure Island Oldies Blog.

Take care and stay well.
Bye for now.
