Island Update Week of March 29th 2020 Treasure Island Oldies

March 29th to April 4th, 2020
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
Treasure Island Oldies is LIVE with a one hour Monday to Friday daily show at 11 am Pacific, 1 pm Central, 2 pm Eastern, 3 pm Atlantic.

I am now finding myself extremely busy preparing both the weekly four hour show along with the new daily one hour show. I hope you are doing well staying at home as much as possible. Having a radio studio in my home is enabling me to continue bringing the show to you.

My deep appreciation goes out to the Broadcast Partners Network Affiliate Stations that carry my show weekly, and some of whom are now airing the daily show. A big shout out to these wonderful community radio stations: WTND-LP, Macomb, Illinois, QCCR-FM, Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Oldies 105.7, Thousand Oaks, California, and KDSX The Eagle, Ector, Texas. They are interrupting their regular program schedule to bring the daily show to their listeners. And the feedback has been very encouraging from listeners in various parts of the world. The announcement of the show going daily also generated media attention in two national trade publications, Broadcast Dialogue and FYI Music News. I'll keep this going as long as necessary. We're all in this situation together worldwide, and I'm pleased to provide a daily diversion for you.

The Chat Room has also seen a great increase of folks dropping by to say hi. In fact, we just experienced a record number of listeners in the chat room! Thank you. The Chat Room will remain available to you 24/7 should you wish to drop by to say hi and to share a few minutes together safely. I will be active in the chat room during the daily live show. Click the Chat tab to find out how to log in. There may be some folks when you drop in, other times there may be nobody in the room. It doesn't matter, just want to make it available to you at any time.

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to my good friend Red Robinson in Vancouver, British Columbia. He's a broadcast legend and has been recognized by many organizations as a pioneer DJ, including the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. We shared offices for 13 years in Vancouver and firmly established a great professional relationship and personal friendship. Happy Birthday, Red. Also Happy birthday to Frank Vandeven in Mission, British Columbia and to Ineyda Velasquez in Dade City, Florida. If your birthday is coming up soon, I'd like to help you celebrate your birthday with all the show's listeners. Send the details to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com. I'll wish you Happy Birthday on the air and also play Birthday by The Beatles for you.

Next week on Treasure Island Oldies, Voice Your Choice features the amazing record artist, entertainer and piano player, Fats Domino. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either I Want To Walk You Home or It's You I Love. I'll play the winner on next week's show.

The Top Five Countdown is from 1965. Motown's The Supremes continued their string of hits with the week's Number One smash. Stop! In The Name Of Love is playing at the Treasure Island Oldies Blog.

Hope you can get a chance to enjoy the daily one hour show this week.

Take care, stay safe and stay well!

Bye for now.
