Dave "Baby" Cortez was born David Cortez Clowney on August 13, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan. He was a well known R&B keyboardist and composer who also did a fair amount of studio session work.While he appeared on the Top 100 chart eight times between 1959 and 1966, he only reached the Top Ten on two occasions. Both songs though ended up becoming classic instrumental hits.
