The pride of Detroit, Michigan is in the spotlight this week on Voice Your Choice. Bob Seger was born May 6, 1945 in Dearborn and raised in Detroit. I first became aware of him when hewas billed as Bob Seger & The Last Heard. They recorded for Cameo Records and had the classic Heavy Music, Part One in 1966. A couple of years later and a label switch to Capitol Records resulted in the Bob Seger System and the 1968 rock smash Ramblin' Gamblin' Man. In 1976 he formed his backup group of musicians, The Silver Bullet Band and they had many hits, including 7 Top Ten records.
This week on Treasure Island Oldies, Voice Your Choice presents Bob Seger with two of his anthem hits: Ramblin' Gamblin' Man and Night Moves. This'll be a hard call but you must decide which song you want me to play. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page. We'll play the winning song in the 3rd hour of next week's show.
