It's
interesting how fast seven days goes by until we're back together again
enjoying our favourite music here on the "Island". And if you think that seven days go by
quickly, it's uncanny how fast the show's four hours go by so quickly. One
thing for sure, we're never bored at Treasure Island Oldies. And it's always so
cool to play not only your favourites, but also lots of Lost Treasures, songs you haven't heard in years but vividly remember
nonetheless. It was great to start off the show with Shake And Fingerpop by Jr.
Walker & The All Stars. It was also fun to hear Tom Northcott's 1941;
haven't played it on the show since 2007! In case you missed the live show, be
sure to enjoy the Archive at the Listen page. You'll hear a ton of great music.
Happy Birthday wishes go out this week
to Cora Quinn in Peoria, Illinois. A
good friend of hers passed on her birthday information, so she had no idea I
was going to celebrate her birthday on the show until she was actually
listening to the live show. Good fun. And if you are about to celebrate your
birthday, be sure to let me know so I can wish you Happy Birthday on the
show and I'll play Birthday by The Beatles for you! Send the
details to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com.
Be
sure to mark your calendar for some upcoming specials: on June 16th it's our Annual
Father's Day Special, our Summer
Beach Party, June 23rd and then our Annual
Made In Canada Special on June 30th.
Phew!! We're gonna have us some fun with these specials.
The
Treasure Island Oldies Blog is
playing The Kickerbockers with their
smash Beatles-sounding Lies. It's our
Song Of The Week. Enjoy!
Voice Your Choice presents one of the
longest lasting groups in history. The
Dells kept their exact original line-up from the early 1060's and into the
'80s with a fantastic blend of voices. And this week we have two of their great
recordings for you. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either Wear It On Our Face or Stay In My Corner.
I'll play the winner in the 3rd hour of next week's show.
Here's the Rock And
Roll News for the week of May 19th
See you next week.
Bye for now.
