Week of February 26th, 2017 to March 4th, 2017
Well
there were no winner announcement mistakes on this show! (unlike some
other show that was on TV LOL) We had a clear winner with Sam Cooke's
You Send Me on Voice Your Choice this week. And while Sam Cooke had lots
of hits, in two weeks I will showcase a lot of artists who only ever
had ONE hit on the charts. Join me Sunday, March 12th for the annual One Hit Wonders Special.
Despite
having the awards show on TV, the Chat Room was jumping with lots of
regulars and some returning friends who have been away for a while. It's
a fun place to share conversation and the thing everyone has in common
is everyone is listening and enjoying the music together. Try it out for
yourself next Sunday. All you need to do is go to the Chat page and
follow the simple instructions. We all look forward to welcoming you.
I'd
like to send our Happy Birthday wishes to Linda Russell Johnson in West
Plains, Missouri. And if your birthday coming up soon, please let me
know the date so that I can help celebrate your special day on the show.
Send the details to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com and I'll wish
you Happy Birthday and play Birthday by The Beatles for you.
The
Top Five Countdown this week is from 1970 and the Number One song is
the classic Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel. It's
playing at the Treasure Island Oldies Blog. Enjoy!
Next
week on Treasure Island Oldies, Voice Your Choice presents the British
rock group, The Sweet. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either Little Willy or Ballroom Blitz.
Here's this week's Rock and Roll News Podcast.
Have a good week. See you next Sunday on the Island for the next Live show.
Take care and all the best.
Bye for now.
Michael
