The Cookies - Voice Your Choice

The original Cookies formed in 1954 in Brooklyn, New York. Doing a lot of background vocals session work for Atlantic Records, brought them to the attention of Ray Charles. For a period of time they became The Raelettes.

However, in 1961 a new line-up of The Cookies formed. They were Dorothy Jones, Earl-Jean McCrea, and Margaret Ross. They initially performed as background vocalists, singing on The Loco Motion by Little Eva, Neil Sedaka's Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, and many others. As The Cookies, they scored several hits.

Next week on Treasure Island Oldies, Voice Your Choice presents The Cookies. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either Chains or Don't Say Nothing Bad (About My Baby). I'll play the winner on next week's show.
