Arthur Alexander Voice Your Choice

Now here is a bit of a twist. Arthur Alexander, our artist in the Voice Your Choice spotlight was both a country music  songwriter and a soul singer. He was born in Sheffield, Alabama on May 10, 1940.

He influenced many recording artists and his songs have been recorded by the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Gerry and The Pacemakers, Otis Redding, Tina Turner and Jerry Lee Lewis. Surprisingly and interestingly too, many North Americans heard Arthur Alexander's music first via the aforementioned recording artists. I know I heard Anna (Go To Him) and You Better Move One, for example, by the Beatles and Rolling Stones respectively years before I heard the original versions by Arthur Alexander.

So in a way, Voice Your Choice is a bit of an education this week as Arthur Alexander is in the spotlight. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either You Better Move On or Anna (Go To Him). I'll Play the winner on next week's show.
