Del Shannon Voice Your Choice

He was born Charles Westover December 30, 1934 in Coopersville, Michigan; but to us fans, we knew him as Del Shannon. Not only was he a talented hit maker as a recording artist, he was also a very good songwriter. One of his big hits that he wrote was I Go To Pieces, recorded by Peter & Gordon. He was also the very first artist to hit the US charts with a John Lennon and Paul McCartney song, From Me To You, which reached Number 77 in 1963.

In the short time span between 1961 and 1966, Del appeared on the Billboard charts sixteen times and had three Top Ten hits including the Number One Gold Record, Runaway.

Next week on Treasure Island Oldies, Voice Your Choice spotlights Del Shannon. Cast your vote at the http://www.treasureislandoldies.com/newsite/voice-your-choice Voice Your Choice page for either Handy Man or Hats Off To Larry. I'll play the winning song on next week's show.
