Neil Diamond started out as a songwriter in the Brill Building in New York City. In that same building was a small label called Bang Records. It was with Bang that his career as a recording artist took off. After enough hit records to qualify for a greatest hits album, he eventually signed with UNI/MCA Records and his career took on a new level.
This week on Treasure Island Oldies, the Top Five Countdown is from 1970. Sitting comfortably at Number One is Neil Diamond with Cracklin' Rosie, a Platinum smash.
Enjoy!
