Our Voice Your Choice artist next week on Treasure Island Oldies opened 18 concerts for The Beatles in Canada and the United States in 1964!
Clarence "Frogman" Henry was born in New Orleans in 1937. He earned his nickname "Frogman" when he improvised what would become his trademark croak for Ain't Got No Home. The A&R man for Chess Records, Paul Gayten, heard it and had Clarence record it in the same style. Upon release it became a big hit and jump-started his career.
Treasure Island Oldies is pleased to present Clarence "Frogman" Henry on Voice Your Choice. Cast you vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either (I Don't Know Why) But I Do or You Always Hurt The One You Love. I'll play the winner on next week's show.
